In memory of 9/11, and for those who think of Iran
SMCCDI (Public Statement)
Sep 11, 2004

Since the moment that Monarchy ceased to exist, and the evil regressive Islamic fanatics crept their slimy path to power, the Middle East, in which Iran was an Island of stability, turned into a growing quagmire of putridity.

Those who wrote the book on Islamist terrorism, the same very villains who burned more than 400 of their fellow Iranian citizens to crisps in Abadan city’s "Rex Cinema" in 19 August 1978  in order to further their evil cause, founded the Islamic Republic. And alas, the world couldn’t bestow them recognition more eagerly, never realizing that they were nesting snakes in their own sleeves !

At the beginning, the Mullahs cunningly took golden advantage of the general regional chaos existing due to the Soviet attack on Afghanistan, the American hostages’ affair, and Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Iran. With bestial ferocity, they solidified their hold on power and laid the foundations of what is now known as state sponsored terrorism, and first manifest it in the body of Hezbollah in Iran and Lebanon.

Then after the end of the cold war, signaled by the fall of the Berlin wall and liberation of the former eastern European nations from the central authority of the Soviets, and as the civilized world began trekking new paths in its social, economical, and political journey towards the new world order, the Hezbollah expanded its terror network and established and supervised its death squads all around the globe.

Despite several incidents which undeniably bore the footprints of Hezbollah, i.e. slaughter of several hundred US Marines as they slept in their Beirut barracks by a truck bomb in 1983, or kidnapping and gruesome videotaped hanging of Colonel Higgins, and other terrorist acts meant to generate the terrorists their much desired ability to demand political ransom, the western world had not yet felt the depth of the danger nor had it made fighting terrorism its priority!

Al-Qaida was unheard of then. Those were the times when the Hezbollah mercenaries were practicing their wares and perfecting their ways by hunting down and slaying anyone perceived of being in opposition anywhere, Europe or elsewhere. And if any of them were to be caught or arrested, their freedom would reciprocally be guarantied and managed by taking, yet, hostage citizens of the country that had them in their custody! Ruling Mullahs of Iran, who are the true creators and instigators of Islamic terrorism, had Twenty-Three years to organize and strengthen their mafia network of regional and international Islamic terrorism.

The "Tragedy of September 11th" can truly be seen as the moment the civilized world woke up to horror of the Islamic terrorism. Even though the travesty of that mournful day compelled the United States to be at the frontlines of war against terrorism, its far-reaching dimensions concerned the rest of the democracies of the world no less. It obliged them to come into close cooperation and collaborative use of latest technologies and sharing of intelligence against this ungodly monster. Despite certain European countries’ short sighted and profiteering reservations, despite their foolish belief that they weren’t or would never be targeted by Islamic terror, the global war against terrorism took on a new dimension as it confronted and defeated the Taliban in Afghanistan. With the war against the terrorists raging near by, Mullahs of Tehran quickly and expediently erected the façade of condemning terrorism, but covertly they did all they could to make the Al-Qaida members who had fled to Iran more at home.

After the Taliban were decisively beaten and disbanded in Afghanistan, coalition of the world’s free nations suffered under the stress of different opinions on how to further conduct the war against terrorism. That led to an apparent split in the coalition of US and British forces during their attack against Saddam Hussein. As a result, the pressure on the Islamic terrorists was dangerously lowered and they promptly rewarded the disunited democracies of the world by daily increasing terrorist attacks, even in the remotest corners of the world, kidnappings of foreign nationals in Iraq, and barbaric beheadings of innocents in front of cameras for the entire world to see…

Ironically now, even the countries that refused to contribute troops to the coalition aren’t immune from experiencing the bitter taste of the terrorists’ vengeance if they don’t bow to their demands!

Today Iran is at the center of a region where Islamic terrorism takes many new victims every day. The ruling Mullahs have for years spread their nightmare of religious terror and stifled any voice raised in objection. The facts and details of the horrendous mass executions of political prisoners in the 80’s, serial murders of Iranian intellectuals in the 90’s, and recent murder of Zahra Kazemi, The Iranian- Canadian photo journalist, are still unknown and may never be known. The Islamic Republic of Iran has seriously endangered the life and compromised sovereignty of our nation by overtly and covertly supporting terrorism in the region and abroad, test firing long range missiles, and insisting on acquiring the technology for complete nuclear fuel production cycle, for “peaceful” purposes.

It is any prudent and freedom loving Iranian’s duty to take advantage of any and every wise opportunity to rid our country of the Islamic terrorists and further the cause of establishing a free, democratic, and secular Iran.

The Islamic republic continues its shameful existence by cunningly taking advantage of the present discords between The US and the European Union on how to approach Iran. Mullahs need the Europeans support for their survival and to that end they have resorted to method of generously rewarding the Europeans out of the nation’s wealth, and pretending to submit to their demands when expedient. Recent developments in Iran show that whenever the Europeans have insisted on an issue, particularly any that had been previously denied by the Islamic Republic or refused by the Guardian Council, the Mullahs have backed down and managed to come up with the “religious justification” necessary to suit the Europeans!

Unfortunately, certain known currents within the Europe, against the clear provisions of the declaration of human rights and against the aspirations of millions of Iranians fighting for liberty and democracy, are transfixed and determined to plunder Iran’s wealth and resources by accepting lucrative commercial and trade rights from the Mullahs.

In contrast to Europe’s profiteering and compromising stance much enjoyed by the Islamic Republic, the United States has repeatedly called Iran a major sponsor of terrorism and an axis of evil. It has declared that not only she will not negotiate with the Mullahs, but rather she supports the just struggles of Iranians for establishing a democratic government.

With the campaigns for presidential election under way in the US, unholy murmurs of appeasement with the Mullahs of Iran are becoming increasingly louder within Senator John Kerry’s electoral headquarters. Wise and freedom loving Iranians must pay close attention to those and think of the calamitous consequences of appeasement with the Mullahs (how disastrous it would be for Iranians who are struggling for freedom and democracy) should Kerry becomes the president. Even though we Iranians cherish the memories of such noble Democratic presidents like Harry S. Truman and John F. Kennedy, particularly that president Truman was instrumental in helping Iran win back and liberate of Azerbaijan from the puppets of the Red Army in Iran, we see the rhetoric and tendencies of John Kerry’s camp, pertaining to negotiations with the Mullahs and guarantying them nuclear technology “under certain conditions,” very similar to that of the Europeans’. Islamic Republic’s lobbyists in the US have been amongst the most generous financial supporters of Kerry’s campaign. They are determined to see him win so that the pressure would be let off the mullahs.

It seems as though Mr. Kerry and his electoral staff are ignoring the fact that the Islamic regime in Iran came to power through terror, and has been able to stay in power till now by exercising its brand of terrorism within and outside of Iran’s borders, and as these words are written, Islamic Republic’s trained agents are busy wreaking havoc and evil in Iraq.

Can Mr. Kerry, who seems to be very much influenced by his controversial Iranian fundraiser, answer the question that how many more terrorist attacks such as 9/11, Madrid train station, Bali, Riyadh, Casablanca, Istanbul, Moscow, Baghdad, …need to happen, and how many more innocent citizens should be charcoaled or be buried under rubbles, until he and his party can realize that negotiating with the ruling Mullahs of Iran will bear no fruit but strengthening and emboldening them?

We believe that if Kerry wins, US’ foreign policy in regards to Iran will converge with that of Europe’s (at all costs) profiteering one and Iranians cry for freedom will be stifled more than ever, and the opposition to Islamic Republic, within or without Iran’s borders, won’t have much chance of safeguarding the meager progress it has made during the past two decades.

Keeping in mind the common identity and the close relationship that Iran’s current rulers and the Islamic terrorists, who are hell bent on destroying the foundations and pillars of modern civilization throughout the globe, it is very much so that the world coalition against terrorism and the freedom seeking Iranians have definitely a common enemy and share the same strategic objectives. Therefore, all political activists and intellectuals, who want to destroy the Islamic terrorism and liberate Iran, must regard as their natural allies all currents who seek to take down Hezbollah and other such religious despotic organisms and help and strengthen them as they can.

Iran’s interests dictate that Iranian-Americans take advantage of this historic opportunity to pave the way of tomorrow’s free Iran into the mold of the new world order by casting their votes for George W. Bush and hastening the downfall of Mullahs by that wise measure.

Mr. Bush said: “Iran issue doesn’t have a military solution.” Therefore, voting for him does not mean supporting military action against Iran. Rather, it means continuation of the policy that is currently in effect by the Bush administration on Iran. It means, no negotiating with the Mullahs, no resumption of economic and commercial relations with them, and support for the struggles of freedom seeking Iranians who want to establish a democratic government in their country.

Now, as we bow our heads and peer deep within our souls in the sorrowful memory of the tragedy of September 11, 2001,  the SMCCDI, as it holds tightly to the memory of all who have perished by the barbarity of Islamists, be they in
Abadan, Beirut, Buenos Aires, Dahran, New York, Bali, Bersheva, Istanbul, Madrid or Baslan, renders its sincerest condolences to the surviving families and friends of the victims. The SMCCDI hopes that with the unity of all the democratic forces of the world against the Islamic fundamentalists, and fruition of the struggles of all
Iranian freedom seekers, we can all change the putrid quagmire of the Middle East into a flower garden of peace and friendship of nations.

Long live Freedom!
Long live Secularism!
Established be Democracy!
