Brave Iranian students support Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom; Denounce anti-Semitism and Islamic terrorism Comment

I have added a button in the right navigation bar to support the "Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran" (SMCCDI). The SMCCDI has a website at www.iran-daneshjoo.org and its goals are Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom in Iran. They are also against anti-Semitism and Islamic terrorism, and are risking their lives for taking these positions:

Iranian Student hides Satellite Dish,
the only way for him to access
non-Governemental news sources

Look what they have to say about the Israeli-Palestinian war:

About one and a half years ago when the beginnings of a lasting peace among the Arabs and Israelis was becoming practical, the obstruction and sabotage of war-mongering governments-- the foremost among them the Islamic Republic-- made this constructive effort unsuccessful. Today, too, we are witnessing the same warmongering venture from the currents that see their political and economic gain in spreading war and crisis, and in ruining the societies in the region.

Peace and tranquility in the Middle East are not achievable through the support of Terrorist and warmongering groups; rather, it is only achievable through the encouragement of political discussions between the involved parties and the uprooting of religious fundamentalism, terrorism, and violence. It is noteworthy that a nation that has been the victim of governmental terrorism for two decades, cannot, itself, be the promoter of violence in the region.

And here's what they have to say about Islamic terrorism after the Bali massacre:

Once again, the followers of the ideology of terror and lunacy have committed murder and have thus emphasized this undisputable truism that terrorism, as long as its roots are not dried up and its revival centers are not eradicated, is a pressing, imminent, and worldwide danger. [...]

Truly, these emissaries of evil and the culture of death leave behind nothing other than poverty, death, and social backwardness wherever they step. The father's of modern religious terrorism- meaning the leach-like mullahs that for over 23 years have made all the foundations of culture and civilization in our country, Iran, the target of their Mongolian pillaging- have bestowed this terror tradition to the world. [...]

It is cause for much anguish that despite it becoming clearer day by day that terrorism is a worldwide danger and the networks of death have obtained the ability to strike anywhere and anytime to commit their crimes, the European Union and Russia with their hypocritical policies in pursuit of their own short term profiteering goals continue to sabotage a decisive battle with the true roots and origins of international terrorism.

The Bali catastrophe has once again emphasized the indisputable reality that religious terrorism is a worldwide problem and steps to dry its roots must be taken in the framework of a unified international battlefront. And, it is a lesson that- especially- the policymakers of countries like France, England, and New Zealand should heed.

The bleeding brain western leftists that support Palestinian terrorism could learn one or two things from the SMCCDI.

It also important to note that the only time "Death to terrorists!" was heard in any rally in any Islamic country was when the SMCCDI took the streets. These guys are my new heroes.

See below for their press release calling for Iranian students to reject anti-Semitism which they say cloakes itself as anti-Zionism (sounds familiar?). They also published articles against Islamic terrorism, separation of religion and state in Iran and other modern ideas that infuriate the Ayatollahs.

Make sure you visit their website and support their movement in any way you can (sign the guestbook, contact them to help them financially, etc...)

SMCCDI Political Committee, October 1, 2002

Students and Great Nation of Iran:

Although the enraged Iranian Nation, pursuant to its many demonstrations, has cried the unmistakable slogan of “Leave Palestine Alone, Give Thought to our Plight,” once again in our country the founders of the order of atrocity and lunacy, totally disregarding regional and world-wide realities and necessities, pursuing their own sickly fascist doctrine of expansionism, are toying with the national integrity and interests of Iran.

Thanks to its unwise, inexperienced, and manna-less politicians, the regime of the Islamic Republic blows the trumpet of support for the Palestinian people anytime it encounters disgrace and disregard internationally, or encounters formidable difficulties domestically. With the daily escalation of public discontent and the intensification of the people’s struggle, the regime is drumming the noise of the decennial of the Intifada and the martyrs of the anti-Zionist battles which it has pulled out of the proverbial sleeve of a committee by the name of “Palestine and the University” located at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Along this line, on the tenth of the month of Mehr [October 2] they intend to convert the hallowed premise of the University to a place for spreading violence in the name of supporting the Intifada. As to what the existing purpose of this committee is within the Ministry of Science, and what scientific, technological, or research service it provides to our universities, there is much to be said. The Ministry of Science should have displayed this committee’s report card to the public so that everyone would realize the racketeering that goes on for stealing from the honorable nation- in appearance to support the Palestinians and in practice for filling their own coffers.

These usurpers of political power-- who from the very beginning, pursuant to spreading the “Islamic Revolution,” turned our country to a haven for religious terrorists and the supporters of religious violence in the region-- by announcing the so-called “Decennial of Defending the Intifada,” and by observing the memorial of one of the Lebanese Hezbollah leaders, have taken another step toward dragging Iran into a strategic and political abyss. With this anti-national act of theirs, they have once again shown the world that the religious tyranny ruling Iran is not only disregarding the country’s national interests, but that also with their ludicrous acts of openly defending terrorism, religious fundamentalism, and warmongering movements in the region, they are moving along the path of destroying Iran and the Iranians.

Under circumstances that world diplomatic efforts, with all their muster, are seeking a peaceful solution to the Arab and Israeli problem, the creation of such a decennial in Iran can only be proof of this definite truth that the leaders of religious tyranny in Iran, are in reality the political candidates of the fascist Mafioso supra-national current of the Hezbollah. They consider its murderous and Mafioso interests to take precedence over national interests; and, in this regard, it is not without reason that with the explosive intensification of public discontent in the country, the Iranian Hezbollah has resorted to its foreign allies and seeks help from the Lebanese Hezbollah and other regional terrorist groups in suppressing the nation. The Hezbollah mafia, which has a distributed regional presence and continues its life through astronomical illegal arms sales, has been looting our enormous national wealth and will stop at no crime for the continuance of its own interests.

The “Third Force” of Iran- which as a popular and spreading social movement is sweeping Iran towards a modern and democratic future- with consideration for the national interests and territorial integrity of the country, in any regional dispute, belongs alongside the forces that step towards spreading and stabilizing open and democratic societies independent of their ethnic nature in this stormy region. Due to its social characteristics and intellectual fabric, the Third Force cannot be an ally of those who block social transformation in the region by insisting on the culture of terror and ethno-religious war.

The “Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran” is of the belief that in accordance with international resolutions, both the nations of Israel and Palestine have the right and the worthiness to live peacefully and independently next to each other. This committee, while condemning the agitating actions of the Islamic Republic officials, requests that the peace-loving and aware students and youth of Iran boycott this made-to-order demonstration—just as you boycotted the sham made-to-order demonstrations of the anniversary of the US embassy hostage-taking (that can be thought of as the first religious terrorism event in complete violation of international accords). In so doing, you will deliver a strong blow to the preachers of the culture of terror and will more clearly display the ideological gap between the masses of people and the illegitimate rulers.

Let us unite more than ever before on the tenth of Mehr [October 2], and more unified than ever, let us turn the humiliated Islamic Republic’s effort against it into a civil disobedience movement, and another battle in the ever standing shelter of the universities.

Tehran, 9th of Mehr 1381 [October 1, 2002]
